BUNK 5

At an all-girls sleepaway camp in the summer of 1996, five 11-year-old girls confront the confusing, hilarious, and life-changing realities of growing up—first crushes, first periods, and the friendships that shape who they become.

The Story

Set at Camp Emerald Spruce in the summer of 1996, Bunk 5 follows five 11-year-old girls sharing a cabin during the most transformative summer of their lives.

Over the course of the season, they confront the strange and exhilarating realities of growing up: first crushes, first periods, friendship drama, homesickness, and the confusing thrill of becoming someone new.

Told through the rhythm of camp life—color wars, ghost stories, late-night whispers, and dances with the boys’ camp—each episode captures a single day that feels like it might last forever.

Bunk 5 is a warm, funny, and unflinchingly honest look at girlhood at the edge of adolescence.

The World

Before smartphones, before social media, and before every moment was documented online, summer camp was a place where friendships formed fast and feelings felt enormous.

Against the nostalgic backdrop of tie-dye, mixed CDs, campfires, and “Girl Power,” the girls of Bunk 5 experience the kind of summer that shapes who they become.
